The Carter that is on the frame is 18psi The Stocl lp carter is.....idk. The Gauge is reading off the Fuel filter housing cap. I'm not sure how much both of them are pushing but under a throttle the gauge sounds like its gonna burst. A high pitch winding sound of all the little geaers inside it straining. This could very well be a fueling problem. but i'm out of guesses and come friday i'm testing that alternator. I'll even wash the engine in hopes it will run better. I'm Leaving it up to everyone for suggestions. Maybe its the fact its a 98.5 and just cant handle what an 01 will do.

So, on these two Carter pumps. Does one pump pull through the other or are they plumbed so that they come together after both pumps and feed into the fuel filter.

If they are in line and one pulling through the other I'd bet the squeelin your hearing is that front pump cavitating and your just hearin the sound traveling through the fuel line to the guage mounted in your cab. Like listening for odd sounds under the hood by holding a wronch on the part and listening through the wrench to isolate the cause.

If they each have their own fuel supply line and then come together after the front pump into a single line to feed into the filter, that is a decent setup.

Something else to keep in mind with the Carter pumps. The inlet and outlet on those pumps is about 1/8 inch id on the openings. So even though they may be pushing 18psi the GPH is still low. They just aren't designed to move the volume of fuel that the aftermarket High pressure pumps move. Like shootin a firehydrant flow through a drinking straw. You will have 1000psi of pressure but not enough gallons of flow to put out a garbage can fire. This would also explain your VP running out of fuel.

Now THATS what i've been wating to hear. Yes they are inline. Frame pump is feeding the Stock lp. IDK how i'd rig them up to both feed into the fuel filt canister. I'd prolly just end up going with Airdog or something before devising a contraption like that. Great theory on the Sound transfering through the gauge, Makes sense to me. Only way to find out is to get a fuel setup like fass/airdog and try it out which is the down fall cuz theyre more than what I'd want to pay. I'm 95% sure i'm not sucking in air from any of the lines anywhere on the truck, The only thing that is still fishy is the other persons truck ran so smooth but to rule that out, no two truck are 100% alike. Thank you again Bubba, I'll get back to everyone on this matter, I'll be home in less than 24 hrs now.

Let me find my old pictures of my dual pump system and I'll PM them to you. It's not hard, just a few key issues that most folks forget about to make them work right.

You rigged up two pusher pumps to the housing? Thats great. I'd love to see the setup. ANYTHING that will save me some deniro will help out. Its been a rough first 6 months of the year. VP,Oil cooler/radiator,transmission,turbo, cylinder head (including studs and rings), now if i can only save $400 and not buy FASS. tha'd be grrrreeeat.

Since you already have the two pumps it should run you about $30 worth of fittings and an hour to sperate them. I'l try to get the photo's out tonight if not you will have them by tommorrow evening.

Forgot to ask, are you still runnin the banjo bolts. If you are you really need to change them out to high pressure fittings also. Banjo's are probably the single most restrictive part of your fuel system.
