Modifications?
Hi, I have a 2001 Cummins with a 5-speed and 4x4. The truck is my daily driver and mostly stock aside from the the 3/8 line kit, fass replacement lift pump, draw straw kit, and boost, egt, and fuel pressure gauges. I'm planning on doing 4" turbo back exhaust and I was wondering what modifications would be best to give me a bit of a boost in power, better fuel mileage, and more smoke.
For more power and fuel economy, a set of 65HP injectors will be very noticeable. A cold air intake wouldn't hurt either.
As for the smoke part....... I don't help people do this. Running around smoking is one of the reasons the emissions are so bad these days. It doesn't look good on the Diesel Performance industry, and could lead to all modifications being shut down.

what kinda power are you looking for? have any goals?
it' is best to set a power goal for your truck and stick with it...
I set a goal for just under 600hp and I nailed it exactly where I wanted to be.

400hp build:
he351cw turbo (or optionally a he351ve + fleece controller if you want a VGT + exhaust brake)
7x.009 or 7x.0095 injectors, and a edge comp + gauges, and a clutch rated for 500hp (better too much clutch than not enough clutch)
