Default Pillar Pod Woes

Well I had an old 2 gauge pod that went over the pillar , Pro Pod i think it was called , I then picked up a Full Pillar from the Bomb Bay and swapped it in my truck

I originally went with the pod because of my aftermarket Tweeters , And knew i was going to have issues with a Full Pillar due to the fact that i had to dremel the hole bigger for my aftermarket tweeter ,

When putting the full pillar on Like i guessed there no room to make the hole bigger and my factory piller clips are Shot so i had to run a Screw in the top center of it to hold the piller in there

It sucks that the full piller goes over the factory one and i have to dremel off the factory speaker hole for the pod to fit on it , how hard would it of been for them to just make the aftermarket piller a stand alone

Anyway ...

I lost my factory tweeters and had a tissue in the hole with the 2 wires sticking out , so a Diesel Bombers member hooked me up and sent me one ,

Bummer it didnt work .....

So setting there looking at the empty hole and the big brass screw head in my new piller I couldnt take it any more ...

I Split the factory speaker apart saving the grill ,, then i dremealed for 20 mins on my Kicker Resolution Tweeter And Cut everything off it but the speaker , Split my Pod from my Piller Mounted the speaker in there then dremeled the long (Speaker Holding ) clips off the grill and mounted it ... SWEET !! that worked great ,,,

Now for the screw , I Split the pillar from the factory one put the screw on the inside one , Reclipped the Aftermarket pillar pod on there , now i have a hole , Exacto Knifed the dimpled out Plastic Took one of the black Clips that came with the pod and cut the head off of it and glued the Head in the hole so it looks like its suppose to be there ...

Worked out pretty good and the piller isnt going anywhere and i have my full sound back!!

if you ever run into a problem with cracking plastic when doing a modification go to a hobby shop and pick up some hot glue with kicker and you can put it back good as new this stuff holds awesome and to plastic very well... just don't glue your fingers together this burns

It's tomorrow, where are those pix?

I used a screw to attach the double gauge pod, only because I wanted to save my stock pillar cover. Wish I had gotten a three gauge pod w/tweeter instead.

Wow DM, nice work.
I'm sort of ashamed of my botch job.
Have to do something with that this weekend. Or buy a triple gauge pod...
