smarty is really good, i have it stacked with my adrenaline now. love it. cool thing about the smarty is you can read codes, adjust speedo for different tire sizes, and 3 cylinder high idle when its freezing out. we actually put the smarty on my buddys 02 stock automatic cummins a few hours ago just to see what the smarty did for a stock truck and it really woke it up. i would say the smarty is more reliable when it come to programmers because it programs your ecu instead of fooling all your sensors like the adrenaline or edge boxes do. im not sure if you can stack the smarty with your edge ez.

Smarty is going to give you the same amout of power as your Edge Ez does. On a VP powered truck you have to tap the pump wire to gain more then 65hp over stock. Modules like Edge J/A, Edge Comp, TST, or something like the Quad Adrenaline do this, the smarty does not. As of very recent, my understanding is Quad has closed up shop due to the EPA's rampage on diesel performance parts and parts makers. So if you want a Quad you better get one fast before stock runs out.

i have heard the same things about quadzilla. so that being said i would not go with quadzilla. both the edge and the quad have their problems. i believe a resistor on the fuel circuit overheats and causes fueling problems. and if they are closing up shop i would go with the edge then so you can get parts in the future and a warranty.

I guess I can mention it is a five speed manual, has FAAS fuel system installed by previous owner, I also would like to know if stacking the smarty and juice with attitude would work well, and how stacking works?

Yes you can stack a smarty with an edge J/A or comp. If you do so you must run the smarty in even numbers that don't increase timing. People have reported a gain with the stack and others have actually reported a loss in HP with the stack.

so if you were to stack the smarty on the ez, it would still be 65hp gain? seems like it would double it

Not it doesn't work that way. Total hp gain over stock is right around 65hp without tapping the pump wire.

Only the certain modules that I listed above will do that. The Ez and Smarty don't have the ability to tap the pump wire. That is why you need to get a module that does or the most you can get is 65hp over stock.
