Default New truck, need help

I have never owned a diesel until this truck. I just got a 2002 cummins, six speed, with 49,000 miles on it. This truck has not been run much in the last ten years as you can tell by the mileage. All that has been done to it is a leveling kit. I just got it from my grandmother in law, and am looking to chip or program it to increase mileage and give it a little power boost. Give me what you think is best. All ideas are welcome, any help is appreciated. Not looking to make this an over the top truck, but would like a good everyday driver, and one that can haul my enclosed snowmobile trailer to the spot faster than my buddy's...

Are gauges that important if you chip is not a huge horsepower chip? I have been told that the edge juice is a good one because it comes with gauges, what do you think? Lift pump is a must for these?

Lift pump, Hell yes! If that goes, it usually takes the IP as well. That equals big bucks. You need gauges to monitor what the engine is doing, especially with any mods. After the above mods, you can get an exhaust system (lower EGT's, better sound)... and maybe a CAI.... and so on, and so on, and so on. You will find that the longer you have your truck, the more mods you will want to do to it. I think I can safely say that we have all fallen into that. BTW

Theres many lift pumps ill break it down for you

Fass or airdog lift pump you'll need to decide if you want the water air separator

Gauges you can do
Isspro trans temp,fuel pressure,boost,pyro

Or you could do like a quadzilla adrenaline with a pulse v2 monitor or a edge jyice with attitude cs or cts.

And obviously a intake and exhaust system

Check out BD Diesel, FASS, AirDog. Lots of info on line and prices vary depending on what you want and what you intend to to with your truck interms of mods.
BTW WELCOME!!!
