In the stock version if you hit 500hp with the NV4500 you've been lucky. With some improvements to upgrade parts, mostly the mainshaft, 600hp hasn't been any problem. Anything over that and your takin chances though. It's been done you just have to be willin to call the wrecker when your luck runs out.

one of my buddys is making 508hp on his 5 speed 01 dodge and the only problem was the clutch. he was smoking his con fe and the only way to go to a bigger clutch is to go dual disk which requires the 6speed input shaft upgrade.....from there i dont know what the next weak link will be but i'm sure there is one and i'm sure we will find out

im putting over 450 hp to the ground with my 5 speed, dual disc southbend clutch and ive ran it like that for over 100k and not had any problems, course driver input will also make a difference, if you shock load or torque load it every time you shift, then itll blow up faster then if you are smooth on it. i know a local guy thats gone through 6 of them simply cause he shifts really early without letting off the pedal and it bucks the tranny like crazy, he does it just to smoke more

Some of our sponsor's sell them. If you want to post a thread in the price quote section they will send you prices. Peter at South Bend himslef is also a sponsor here and he selss direct if you want to call him. He could also help on which one would be right for you and your truck. He's a wealth of info when you talk to him.
