Allison tranny swap
My brother and I are considering getting an Allison tranny put into his 95 Dodge diesel currently running with a 2wd auto. He is wanting to mod his truck a good bit and would prefer an Allison over beefing and rebuilding his current tranny. I am told if I get an adapter from a 4-bt that had a t/h 400 with the flex-plate, crank hub/spacer, wavey ring, starter, and all the bolts, the GM allison (from a duramax or 8.1 gas engine) will bolt right up,. But I am also told he'l have the GM "tilt" to the engine, but I am also told it wont be an issue. I am pretty sure I get an allison 1000 or 2400 from a freightliner or school bus it should have an SAE#3 bell housing like he needs to fit that adapter. Any ideas, bombers?

there is a way to use the wiring harness that comes off the allison 1000 and make your own stand alone if you have the time to research it and do a little wiring. mainly its the throttle position sensor input and i think VVS. im going to be running an allison trans in my swap and have been researching it. no need to buy the expensive stand alone system

the tranny in the bus doesnt have overdrive we have one at shop i probably have everything you need if you want to run the bus tranny though. Bus tranny we have is sae 3. We have a newer allision 2000 and it is a sae 2 so they make them in both i believe and ive also heard the same thing on just building a standalone harness for it.
