i just ordered a water meth kit for my truck im gunna be running (2) 12gph nozzels in my truck and put a 30 gallon rv water tank under my tool box in the truck i want to know what peoples opinions and what they have for water meth for keeping ther egets down while towing

 

I've always been a fan of water/meth, just never got around to getting one. I wouldn't run 50/50 in my truck if I had it, I think there's too much risk, I would just run straight water or at most 25% methanol.

 

im doin streight water in the summer and 30/70 mix in the winter

What input does your system reference? Boost? Egt? Is it progressive or just on/off?

I got the Snow Performance boost referenced progressive system (Stage 1 Universal, I believe) with the 100 psi max reference module (with intentions of going higher boost twins in the future). It took a while to get it tuned in right, but the progressive-ish profile kept the EGT's locked in at around 1000 (and that was before I had the intercooler installed) as the boost shot up and the hammer down. I also liked that with the progressive ramp, it didn't just slam on or off. Unfortunately the most I towed with it was a 12valve/NV4500/241DHD in the bed...but even then, it was an appreciated EGT check on these long drawn out Oklahoma grades.

I ran Devils Brew from DevilsOwn (49/51 meth/water, I believe) because they are just outside of OKC and it was convient to pick up a case. However, the methanol makes it scream, so I'd probably stick with straight distilled water for towing (depending on where you are, tap water can be rough on the nozzles and rest of the system with all the calcium and other hardness factors).

My biggest complaint was that the 3 gallon tank I had didn't last NEARLY long enough, especially since once the 49/51 meth/water mix hit, the engine would take off thus increasing the boost thus increasing the injection rate thus increasing the boost thus increasing the injection rate....it was perpetual to an extent and proved to be hard to get off the skinny pedal once it took over.

 

It's a 2d referenced controller. It references both Boost and EGT's. It is progressive, always providing the correct amount of injection at the right time. These TOW MAX and MPG MAX systems provide smooth OEM-like power that really must be felt!

Here's a tip for you on keeping those nozzles performing well: Take them out and drop them in some Calcium Lime Remover and let them sit for 15-30 minutes. Take them out, rinse off and blow out with compressed air and then put them back in.

Yeah, most guys anymore are using the 7 gallon tank that comes with the Tow Max or MPG Max. It would make a nice upgrade for your system. It will give you roughly 1000 miles in an unloaded state and 550 miles while towing and injecting that entire time.
