Default Suggestions for new exhaust

Any ideas for new exhaust, Turbo back, for my stock 98 12v?
The only upgrades planned in the near future are a TST fuel plate. looking for more towing power and fuel economy.
What are some good brands not to pricey.

Thanks

since you arnt looking into any big upgrades, i would go with a 4" straight pipe. i have a friend who got his custom made at a exhaust shop and it was a lot cheaper than a brand name so see what your local exhaust shop says if you want to go in that direction.

Post up in the price quote section! One of our vendors should be able to hook you up

Straight piped 12 valve sound so sweeeet. That sound cannot be matched by a 24 valve 3rd gen. Its a sound all its own. IMHO Even better with stacks!!

I put a 4" straight pipe on my stock 12V, lost economy and no appreciable power increase. It's loud. I don't mind it, everyone outside the truck complains. Based on my experience though, I'd say it's pointless without more mods to justify it.
That all being said, I also have a stock auto, which may be taking any power increases and puking them out as heat because they sure as hell aren't getting to the wheels.

Regardless, I got the MBRP turbo back on ebay for $260 shipped, before I knew about the vendors here.

I wish I knew. I was expecting at least 1-2mpg improvement, and I got a 1-2mpg loss instead. It certainly wasn't because I couldn't discipline my right foot with all the new power, because there wasn't any. Lest I sound like a total party pooper though, I should mention that when I'm pulling a trailer the temp stays down better. I haven't gone over 190 since doing the exhaust. It was worth doing just for that.

hmmmm sounds wierd to lose on exhaust. but ill be doing 5" exhaust for me but i work for carquest so i can get the piping for cheap. ill do 5" from down pipe to a 90* elbow 6" behind the cab. and when i get the money ill get a 5" down pipe and itll be complete. but the vendors always have great deals i just like doing as much custom work as i can so i can say its mine
