ive been seeing people with an aftermarket intake elbow is it necessary?

Nope, stock intake horn will support plenty of power.

Don't need it unless you have the CA EGR version.

after i have gotten the power i want im gonna go for looks inside and out so maby ill get one eventually

If you're on the low end of the hp scale, it won't help much. If you're pushing big hp, it may give you a few if you add a tunnel ram with it.
