Default hx35 over k31

Would this be a good set up for my truck? Would these be better than the 64/65/12 i have now? My 64 needs to be rebuilt and i was wondering if it would be money better spent on a compound set up? Im no turbo guru so any help would be great! thanks
Chris

I really enjoy my HX35 over S400 combo. A K31 should spool up faster then my lazy S400. Personally, I don't think compounds can be beat, but that's just my opinion.

Hey Ryan, i was thinkin about pming you before i posted! Whats been done to my truck is all thats gonna happen engine wise. So im looking for a turbo setup thats gonna work well for a long time. This is a used setup that i found. The seller says the 35 has zero play but the k31 has a little up and down but none in and out. He's asking $1500 dollars for everything. Would this be worth it even if i have to rebuild the k31?

That was my thought as well...

Get a lot of lag with that turbo harry22? Sure seems like you would.

Yea it was a little laggy. But the high tech turbo is shot and needs to be rebuilt now so i just bought a t58 with hopes to add a bigger turbo to it for compounds later. I bought the truck a month ago with the understanding it only had 80k on a rebuild but it ran for two weeks after i got it and pushed oil out the blow by tube. The motors out and im rebuilding it now. Just slowly peacing it together the way i think i want it. Thank god for this place.

I don't think that's a bad deal if it includes everything. Hot pipe, cold pipe, discharge pipe, oil feed and return lines, air cleaner assembly, all the little pieces. S400 kits utilizing factory top turbo's are being sold new for $2400+. Even if a rebuild kit is $300 and your time, I think your still doing well. I was into mine for about $700 excluding turbos, but that's piecing it together and knowing people.
