Default Tranny

From what you guys know, how much can a stock tranny from a '96 12 valve safely hold horsepower wise? how much is too much?

Not much. im in the middle of tranny problems right now. all i really have is a moded plate to a 100 and some tuning. get a good tq ant valve body will help alot.

i got a plate and intake, JUST put 3k gsk in. next is 100 horse injectors and 165 gpm airdog II so its gonna be pushin a lot here pretty quick. and i dont know how itll hold but i guess ill see. and i couldnt help but notice you were in newcastle? im over in gillette

Off topic: Just noticed a couple fellow 12 valvers from town so had to say hey. I'm in Gillette also.

get a valve body and troque converter if you want to be able to use truck. Stock converter will slip all the time heating everything up.Power will not get to the tires

A good single disc converter and valvebody will make a big difference in performance.
