So i have a single disk billet converer. Recently my truck started a shudder in OD only when under hard load. Fluid was burned. Converter seemed great before fluid burned. Put in fresh fluid but didnt fix problem. Will a upgraded valve body solve this or have I ruined my converter. Could it be slipping the od unit and not the converter. Thanks for any input

 

If the fluid is burnt then more than likely so are your clutch packs.

 

Caaca aThat means I should probably just gimp it arround until I can afford a built tranny. What is good tranny tha will hold 400hp/1000ftlbs and how much should I save up

 

Id have someone pull the trans and see if it needs rebuilt. If so I would do a rebuild, valve body and TC.

Well it looks like diesel dawg was right. A few days ago I was driving in overdrive and all of a sudden lost all gears forward and reverse. No choice now but to rebuild the tranny. A broken transfer case chain would not cause this would it?
