unknown mods runs like junk!
a friend of mine just bought a 95 cummins single cab longbed auto 4x4 for 2k
it has no plate and fullcut dv's starwheel is cranked all the way forward.
it runs rough like its missing a cylinder and the #3 dv holder wont tighten up at all
the truck used to lope badly but i loosened and re-tourqed all the holders(except #3) to 85lbs now it idles fine but still misses.
the previous owner had someone tune the truck.
i need to know how to get this truck to run good again!
any advice appreciated!

i would htink if the DV holder wont tighten up you have IP problems. fire the truck up, take a 3/4" wrench and crack the injection lines loose at the injectors one at a time. crack one open just enough to leak fuel and kill the cylinder. then tighten back up and go to #2. When you find the line that doesnt change the way the truck run, you have your dead hole...most likely #3 from what you have described.
i cracked the lines at the injector (all 6) and no change in runability.
still sounds like crap.
im probably going to get rid of those full cuts for him
maybe get some 191s
as for the holder can i change the barrel without screwing anything up with the pump still on?

No plate and full cuts is a lot of fuel for a stock turbo, I think if you do anything more than plate work turbo mods are next on the list, need a way to burn the fuel your dumping in (efficiently that is, keeping drive pressure in check).
