Need to invest transmission $ in a house. I think that houses cost more in Edmonton than in your neck of the woods.

Oh I highly doubt that. 40% increase in housing last year. Average city lot and city house of 2100 sqft. is going to cost you just a touch under $500,000 now. This is average! It is all the albertans coming this way with their oil money.

Thats definitely a thought.....Id love to move out West and have spent much time thinking about it. This year we had snow on the ground for 7+ months !! But, I think it may be just too busy out there...as well, Id need a good job.

Sorry for hijacking this post but:

DR.Evil, The island is smoking busy. Terasen gas has been sold to Fortis Inc. and Kinder Morgan - both amjor players. BC Hydro is looking for power tech's to manage and install their upgrade plans for new power - the island is in huge need of a new power plant.

Being LEED AP certified really helps because everyone out here is green. But most of that is .

Pays are close to 6 figures for those in a need industry. The weather is nicer, Westjet flies 2 and from daily, it still snows here, the fishing is great, off roading is awesome, camping is great and so on... Housing can be found in the low $300,000's but you get what you pay for.

The place I bought just in December for $335,000 was just evaluated at $405,000!

Anyway, come out for a visit.
