Default best hauling set up

This summer im gona be hauling alot of hay and equipment. What are gona be the best next mods for my truck.im plaining on puting a plate back in it. and im saving for college and rope some money is pretty low.

Good flowing exhaust system and air intake to keep things cool. Its probably a good decision putting a plate back in to help keep things cool when towing, I would look at a #100 and adjust its position and that of the AFC to keep temps in check.

Also if you're towing at above stock power levels, it wouldnt hurt to have an upgraded clutch.

i realy like the firstone 5000 lb air bags for heavy loading and reduced sway !

my best pulling truck had 4.10s, HD ceramic clutch, 100 plate and afc full forward, a good set of 10 ply tires, or 14 ply depending how heavy you haul,

How heavy are you going to haul. The best setup ive run is 4" exhaust, a big air filter, and stock pump settings. What I do with the pump is just plug the line going to the afc so it never goes full fuel and hook it back up when im done. Last summer I hauled between 10-25K for a while and it was almost impossible to keep the water, transmission (and its a manual trans) and exhaust temp under control grossing anything more than 13k because of the extra fuel and outside temp. I found you can get away with it in the winter ( anything under 65F) but the summer its too much hassle. 4.10's make a big difference, the one I had problems with had 3.54's. If I could get over 2k rpm it would cool down some but it then I was running over 70 mph which was too fast. Our truck with 4.10's spins fast enough to move some air and runs about 60mph doing it. To sum it up the best way to haul big loads it to put some money into you engine tuning it right( bigger turbo, exhaust, intake) or buy a bigger truck, its safer and alot easier.

nobody has mentioned mag hytech pans... must.. lift pump.. some 70hp sticks and a well tuned pump... a dual disc clutch.. input shaft and overfill the rear end and trans a lil.. i tow 35k+ with mine all the time... bags would be nice... but not a must...guages of course...the necessities are the clutch guages and exhaust in my opinion.. keep ur greasy side down!!!!

If u tow heavy with above stock power parts will break. I finally upgraded to trucks and they last way better. And u can buy a truck as cheap as any 12 valve and it will out last it. Go to my sig that was my best pulling truck.

I gross over 35k on a regular basis with my setup and it runs great. I have no fuel plate with stock timing(needs to get bumped up), 62/65/12 s300 based turbo w/ hx40 4' down pipe with 4' exhaust with a muffler. 4.10 gears is a must with 315/70/17 Allterrains. Maghytec pan for the tranny and rear end. For my auto tranny I had a local tranny shop ugrade everything except the shafts. For suspension riderite airbags work great but I went for a custom Four link in the rear with huge airbags to handle heavy loads. And of course I have a BHAF to help it breath better.

so pretty much no real power upgrades except a turbo mabe. not sure on weight but atleast 20 round bales and sometimes the deere and the bailer.
