Default boost???

im still chasing my boost numbers, when i ran a stock turbo with a number 5 and 370 and nothing else done i got 45psi no problem, now i have a completely rebuild motor, with everything in my sig and i can barely push 30psi, my truck has plenty of power-i hit 100+ on the on-ramp to the freeway no problem and the 40 with 14cm housing cleans up the fuel just fine with barley any smoke once its spooled, egts are about 700-800 post turbo, any ideas??? maybe that just the way it runs or my boost line to the gauge got messed up some how??

700-800 post turbo could very well be 1200 pre turbo.

Take the plate out completely, see where that gets you. Is it wastegated?

the hx40 is a larger turbo and just because it dose not make more boost dose not mean it makes less power. the hx40 is in its map that hx35 at 45 psi was not

I'd think it would make more than 30 though...

i think it may be time for new boots, i was building a new intake tube and was looking at the lower intercooler boot on the driver side and i can see the webbing where some of the rubber is missing

Check it for cracks, that could be a bad boost leak.

What did you use to rig it up?

i used a 3x4" 45* bend intercooler boot with a piece of 3" pipe weld shut with a air chuck in the end and the 4" end slips over the turbo inlet, then i use a pressure regulator to adjust how much air goes in, i didnt get a chance to check it today but i did race a harley davidson chopper and stayed dead even with him all the way to 80 or 90 when i ran out of lane, it put a nice smile on my face

Ok, I was thinking about checking mine by hose clamping an old inner tube over it with a valve stem in it and put pressure to it that way. Probably can't hold a ton of pressure but should be able to put at least 20 to it and see.
