Default HEAD PORTING

got my head at the machine shop i was wondering if i have the it bowl blended on the intake and exhaust and gaskit match and blend the exhaust runner if that would hurt spool up and also if it would lower egts ive heard that it would make them spool faster but not real sure

so was it a head gasket that went wrong? and any head work helps and make sure u have the head shaved so shell sit on the block all nice like

im still not sure the gaskit was in rough shape between the cylinders but i dont see how it could get oil in the water how much slower will my turbos spool and will it lower my egts

oil in antifreeze is head gasket unless its ur oil cooler. u can clean ur oil cleaner and put it in a bucket of water and if it bubbles its bad or somethin like that. and i had head work and it helped out with turbo spoolin yeah but i dont have gauges so idk about egts

ic i guess im goin to have mine bowl blended on both the intake and exhaust and the exhaust runner ported. im goin to pull that oil cooler and check it to how hard are they to take off

not to hard a shop did all my work that was two years ago when i just turned 17 or i could help u out alot better now cuz i would have done the gasket myself and thanks for the friend request!

im wondering what head gaskit to go back with stock cummins or marine

i went with marine but i know u cant do some gaskets with a o-ringed head. and if u want to do power later on u better go ahead and o-ring the head dont fire ring it!

what would the benifits be of o-ringing with out fire rings

Fire ringed heads are tough to do on a street truck. Hard to get to seal, plus normally you have to machine the block as well as the head. For o-rings, it'll use the fire ring in the headgasket, the o-ring basically puts more pressure on it when you tighten the head down. Also while you have it out and everything, might as well do studs too.
