Default tranny issue

Allright, so yesterday my tranny started acting up for the first time. While stick in traffic my tranny gauge read about 220degrees, when stoppimg and going it felt like it would start off in 2nd instead of first, so I shifted it down manually and everything was fine. I got out of traffic my guage dropped down to 160 where it normally is and all was great. Until now. Now I sit on the side of the road. It doesn't matter where I put the shifter wether it be reverse or 1st the truck doesn't move, transmission doesn't engage at all. I pulled off the road in the first place because it wouldn't shift into over drive and I thought maybe the fluid was low, so I got out, checked the fluid, was actually a little over full, got back in the truck pulled up my emergency break droped it down to drive position from neutral and nothing happened. I checked the linkage and it moves with the gear shifter. Any ideas?!
