at the same time you should also put in the usual gauges. EGT, boost, if you have an automatic a tranny temp gauge. Then look at upgrading the tranny

You have just opened a huge box of things to do. You will eat and sleep cummins from this point on. However gauges should be a first, along the same lines of getting air in and out of the motor, I personally would suggest if the truck has any amount of miles on it running the valves first checking it over making sure nothing needs taken care of in the first place before the mods take place. Another big one that is not one to be taken and pushed aside is the KDP. If it hasn been done you need to look into taking care of that first. If your truck is an auto its not going to take much if it is stock. We shall start there because i know i am forgetting the easy things and hopefully some one else will chime in on the subject. But as monster12valve said the stickies are great and you will read hours and hours of things with the search button. You might fill out your sig also so we know what your working with so maybe we can point you in the right direction.

Like 12vcummins96 asked, what you plan on doing with your truck and your goals is another big question.

Now that you have gauges you should go with the standard air in air out. Go for a BHAF, and an exhaust, the biggest with the least restrictions your local laws and wallet will allow. if you need part#s for BHAFs let me know. You can mess with the star wheel and slide the fuel plate fwd, and like M12valve said you can find all kinds of threads about that. You should get a fuel plate, which one depends on what you are going to use your truck for. I wouldn't go with anything lower than a 10 if you are gonna haul and tow alot with your truck. If it's gonna be purely a play rig go for a 100 or a 0. The 100 helps keep smoke at low RPM down then lets it roll in accordance to your right foot up higher. The 0 is all about fuel right now, some guys say you should just take the plate out, then there are others who say it can run away if ya do that. Believe what ya want but personally I'd rather be down a couple horses then an engine. After that theres delivery valves, governor spring kits, turbos, injectors. One thing don't bother with the Mack plug, it's not good for the 215 pumps.
