Default HX35 HY35 Exhaust Housing Same?

Do these interchange?

I've got HX35's and wouldn't mind swapping to the 9cm HY35's

I understand the exhaust bolts on with a HX35 while the exhaust has a v-band with the HY35

Otherwise, the exhaust housings fit, and would lower my spool time?

the housing WONT swap but if it WOULD/COULD work it would lower the spool up but send your egts really high, if you can get your hands on a turbo off an 07 cummins, use that it has a 9cm non divided housing and 60mm compressor wheel

the 9cm non divided housing comes out to about a 11cm divided housing so its not too much smaller than stock but has a better compressor, will had a bit more fuel than a 35, and spool quicker

or you could put the whole hy-35 turbo on but the compressor wheel on those is a 54mm instead of you hx-35s 58mm wheel

Hm!
Hadn't thought of that
You're saying a 9cm nondivided is rather close to an 11cm divided?
I figured they would have taken that divided area into account

the 9cm = .68 AR or something, while the 11cm is closer to .9
I didn't take the divided housing issue into account, though

I'm just trying to push the AR down a bit, to shift that spooling time down a bit

I'm only pushing 10lbs out of the turbos, so I don't care about them running out of air or anything (or egr temps)

Good info on the '07 cummins turbos
But they're probably pricey. I like these HX35's because they're cheap

Swapping to the HY's is an option
I'm lazy, though...and would rather just swap the Exhaust
(don't want to deal with the cold side difference, etc)

The 9cm on HY will increase drive pressure compared to a HX35. When I has a single turbo, I liked the HX over the HY. Cooler EGT's, more boost, and didn't really notice any spool up time difference.

Thanks for commenting
I definitely don't want to waste my time if the 9cm doesn't make a difference

For the record, I removed my HY wih 9cm, and upgraded to a HX 12cm

You guys have a bit different goals than me, though
8lbs of boost is a lot for a 461

15 pounds of boost is scary

I'm more concerned about the spool time

Then the 9cm would be better in you situation, IMO.
