Default Governor spring HELP!!!

Okay I don't know what to do about this, but here is the problem. I was installing my 4k spring kit in my 180 pump on my truck and the first side went well. Went to install springs on the other side and the bigger spring didn't have the spring seat cut on one side... Its a kit from ddp i bought it 2 years ago so warranty is probably out of the question. I just got around to installing it now. Anyways I dont know what to do. Should i bring it to a machine shop and have them cut it? Or what? You know what they say if its not one thing its another Also I didn't find any smaller shims in mine, the hold down nut was tightened to .080 originally. I even took the largest spring out, it had a seat, then the next to thing to come behind that was the washer. Did I do something wrong? I fished around with the magnet down in the bottom of the pump and didnt snag anything, should i keep trying? My guess is someone took the shims and tightened the hold down nut down. But thats just a guess

nobody has any suggestions? Im going to call ddp in the morning and chew some you know what... I think its ridiculous to pay that kind of money for something and have it not be right

I would really like to put my truck back together, i was thinking of just putting the stock larger spring in for now til i can come up with a better alternative. Unless someone suggests against doing that. I know the stock spring is longer a little bit, but i was just thinking of tightening it down a little more...
