Default truck pops above 2500

i have recently had the timing bumped up and he set it a couple different ways,it ended up being around 22 degrees.i also shimmed the gov. springs and now it sounds like it's popping above 2500 rpm's what is going on here??it is pulling good.

it sounds like it could be a timing issue, are u sure u got it at 22*? maybe the pump slipped in the gear?

i don't know,would it be advanced too far?he had to use the spillport method.we couldn't find the specs on the pump it says 847 i can't find anything on it

It might possibly be running out of fuel too.

sounds like my truck when it was at 11* it would pop bad above 2k

it "pops" free reving it or under load?

i think just under a load and he said he's sure it's between 22 -25 degrees and its not really a pop as much as a cracking sound or something it's hard to explain i guess it sounds similar to a jake brake????

That is alot of timing for just driving on the street IMO.

That's too much to vary... check the timing again could be air in fuel also
