Marine 370's are gonna suck diesel, burn hot, be smokey, and it's gonna run rough. This is the general rule of thumb. Although there are guys on this site who can tune 370's to work fairly decently... I would still pay just a touch more for a nice set of SDX's. They will increase mileage, decrease egt's, and will keep the smoke under control

i dont have a pyrometer so i cant really tell how much hotter it runs over the stock injectors, i havent noticed any mpg loss yet and they are really smokey when you want it to smoke but just normal driving they only haze a little from stop and go nothing to really worry about.

ive ran without a pyro since me and dad got our first diesel in 97 and had marine injectors in it.

most of the stuff done to my red truck are parts taken from my white wrecked cummins.

i will get a pyro eventually but right now ive got other concerns.

but i do like the marine injectors, but you might not, its all in preference.

The 90 horse DDPs are the same as marine 370s. DDP uses the 155* angle which is the same as 370s but for $100 I'd pick them up and run them for awhile

Thats def. a ticking time bomb without pyro brother. Just saying. Melting MY motor would definately be one of my "other concerns".

I've seen the abbeviation listed both ways. Cummins calls it an aneroid fuel control. Those who work on the 6BT tend to call it air fuel control. Same part.

Here is a decent link that explains stuff.
Diesel Database :: Turning Up A P7100 Pump

I am in agreement about the pyro! Get one or spend the money on new parts.

With just a few easy mods (no injectors yet) I can bury my EGT and melt down the engine. With 370s, it is almost a surety.

Also, there is something to the spray pattern that most guys don't seem to get and it is related to timing. As the spray increases in width, timing must be run lower to accomodate the spray pattern into the bowl of the piston. Advance timing and run wide-angle sprays and you just hose down the walls of the cylinder. A possible exception is running high rpms (over 4000) which is seldom the case in street-driven trucks (lots of extra stuff needed to actually gain power in that rpm band makes that non-issue for most guys not runnig race or puller trucks). The object is to spray the bowl and light it for best efficiency and power. The amount of spray that goes into the bowl determines the hp level of the engine, not spraying it wider or sooner.

Here is a diagram that I made to explain it to someone else:
