Default Air Filter Collapsed, Looking For Replacement

So the air filter that came with my AFE Stg2 is collapsed and I'm looking to replace it. Should I be looking for a particular filter to keep it from collapsing again, or should I just get another AFE filter?

I dont know what the filter in your afe intake is shaped like but I just put an amsoil 4091 filter in my truck .. love it already ... ok so I knew I would love it since this is the second truck ive put an amsoil airfilter in. If that filter doesnt fit Im sure Heath can track the right one down for you .. great guy to do business with.

I'm sure we could find someting for you but, that filter shouldn't have done that either. AFE is a good filter and shouldn't collapse. Any type of warranty on those things?? If it's not a defect then you're suckin a lot of air and not sure other filters would hold up either. Never know.
How long was it on there before it collapsed? If right away, you might try another and see what happens before switching to something else.
Seveal options to investigate with. I'll be here if you decide to try something else.
Good luck.

Thanks guys! This is the 2nd AFE that I've had this happen on. This one was on for about 14k in the span of a year. The first one collapsed with my stock hx35, then this past one had both the 35 and a Super B Special sucking air (about 4k miles). As for replacement filters, I got rid of the AFE stg2 and moved my cold air to the front of the engine bay, so I'm sure I can hook any filter to it. I would definetely like to keep a washable filter like my AFE.

The bhaf isn't washable, but it's beatable!! Just beat the bhaf on the ground or blow it with a compressor and it's good to go.

That's good to know. I don't think I'm going to worry about it to much then. I think sometime down the road I'll throw an S&B on it and keep my old AFE just in case... But for now it sounds like it should still be working just fine
