HELP!!
I've got a kid that's been working on my truck at school, and this is the issue he has had 2 days in a row on it. It starts and idles really good, he allows it to warm up, and then proceeds to drive it and when he gets back, it sputters as if it's not getting enough fuel, it will continue to fire as long as you keep the rpm's up on it whether that's idle, or driving he has to maintain some sort of pressure on the throttle. Prior to the work I had the idle around 875 rpm, and now it's down around 650 to 700. He installed a 4k GSK kit on it, and advanced the timing on it yesterday, today he readjusted the time back to stock, I believe it had slipped. He torqued the nut on the gear to 150 ft. lbs. Does this sound like it is a GSK problem, either too tight, or not enough. I think it needs the idle turned up. ANY help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yeah 215 pump, as for the clicks I'm unsure. I did ask him specifically if he took the shims out and he said yes. I was thinking it was either a GSK problem, or an idle problem. It seemed unlikely that he got them too tight and still had the idle down nearly 200 rpms from where I had it when he started. I'll tell him to start with those first in the morning.

but when you install the 3 or 4k spring kits you should have to lower the idle not raise it. Thats why I'm thinking the springs are not thigt enough.

Thanks for the tips. It was a combination of a couple things. The timing had slipped, how much I didn't ask but some, and I had him go the counting clicks route on the springs rather than measuring the stud to the nut. I believe I'm going to take the springs back one click, SO TOUCHY, I control my foot really well, although I'm concerned my soon to be wife won't be able to get it down quite as quickly. Ordered a new #10 plate, and boost elbow should be here this weekend, guess I better put the gauges in the redneck rig.
