Ok i have a question. If i tune the afc of the truck for full throttle and set it with an air line hooked up at say 35lbs with out a fuel plate it will pop the waste gate at 35lbs right? I have in the past done away with the whole mess, plate, afc and everything. im tryin somethin new so i wanted to make sure i understood.

no the afc controls fuel only it will not make the wastegate hold longer get a boost elbow for that

Dont remove the afc. Just dont do it. It's very very tough to drive w/out it. It's smokey and sucks fuel and can be very slow if you dont know what you are doing.

Get a 100plate, put it full forward, and put the afc full forward.

SOMEDAY,someone will expalin to me why everyone thinks a 100 plate is the best for all pumps.

If i tune the afc of the truck for full throttle and set it with an air line hooked up at say 35lbs with out a fuel plate it will pop the waste gate at 35lbs right?
NO!
It will hold the rack and not allow for full travel until 35psi.

BTW...85 305...
You should do a little more studying on your P-Pump CPL's and what works for each one.If you would do that then you would understand that there is no one plate that works for all of the P-7100's,unless your running a 0 or plateless.

Ya I should have told him to research instead; I know my 100plate works for my 215 pump. But thats about the extent of it.

yep, adjust the gov arm so it is all the way up, mod the barrel, leave the foot alone, slide the housing back, and set your spring pressure with shop air.

So, I know there's no "one size fits all" pressure for setting the springs, but what's a good ballpark to start from?
