12mm is standard, if it makes a difference i will be installing 12mm ARP studs on mine when i get the head finished, 14mm requires the block to be drilled re-tapped for the bigger stud IIRC.

my goal is to make around 500hp with the pump what do you guys recommend Nothing wrong with a 160 pump it would make 500. I would not swap 215 plungers into the 160 pump, you would be better off keeping everything as it is but swap in a cam from either a 180 or 215 pump. twins but they make it sooooo much easier to make 500hp and be streetable and gives the ability to tow heavy...... try towing heavy with a single big charger..... it ain't fun.. would like to stud, o ring, and put the 60lbs springs in. is that overkill or not enough? Tranny... I have a good tranny for sale with a tripple disk a suncoast valve body and a manual valve body billet shafts good clutches and steels. Only thing is it is a 47re also be ware that not just anyone can port a diesel head. there is more to it than just making the ports larger. the ONLY reason i am letting this guy do mine is because i KNOW he knows what he is doing.. It will allow for a hp gain but it will never allow for 10x the amount when compared to a gasser.I'd love to know where you pulled that figure out of and its easy to see why you had so much trouble with your truck with comments like that. 500RWHP can be attained with a 215 pump with the right mods and done in the right order.Your transmission should be the first work that gets done,then the headwork and then your pump and turbo.It may not be what you want to hear but its the best way to do it.Remember that 500hp with a 12v means it will be a smoky ride and there is nothing that can be done to prevent it.Its a known power level plane that many of us have crossed and have seen the difference in exhaust emissions because of it.Twins will help lower the smoke or keep it maganagable but it will not clear up,you just have to find a way for your right foot to moderate it.It can be done but it will take alot of discipline to do it........Andy |
yep i got the order down already, after i have destroyed a few trannys, just seeing what each step is gonna need and whats best to do, thanks for the input its all greatly appreictiated
last ?s for now, hows the few milage at these power levels? i know most of it is how you drive.. i do tow alot, almost weekly, anywhere form 10K to 20k but im definately going with twins so it shouldnt be too much to worry about |

why would you install 181 DV's? the 130's out of the 160 pump actually flow more....
