Default Just noticed my bottom 2 afc screws came out!!

Was messing under the hood, saw smoke coming from driver side. I investigate, turns out the bottom 2 screws came out. All kinds of oil and smoke and stuff coming from it when I rev it up. I've been getting poor fuel mileage; is this related? The only thign I've done to the truck lately was swap turbos and cap off the afc boost line; could that have caused this?

when you put the fuel plate in the pump you need to get some new screws in there and use some blue lock tight

Why would you cap the boost line to the afc?!

I was wrong.. THREE screws were missing and the 4th was damn near out! Jeez unbelieveable.

I capped off the afc boost line because I am using a boost elbow tapped into the turbo.

Butttt I think I fried another turbo. Was putting home from work, and out of nowhere, no boost, lots of black smoke. I jut fixed the afc, took for a test drive, messed with a few things, nothing. Then the last time I thought I fixed the issue, I floored it in first, no boost only sputtering, I slammed the brakes pissed off and think I saw white smoke roll past me. ANOTHER fried turbo??? This truck is cursed. Been nothign but problems since I bought it. My wife is going to skin my nuts when she hears I fried ANOTHER turbo.

No I'm not positive. Hell it might have even been dust because thats the ONLY time I've seen white smoke the rest of the times its been very black. I have not checked for boost leaks. I wasn't doing anything that would have caused one and I'm just so pissed off I could torch that damn thing.

Why did you remove the line out of the intake manifold and how much shaft play does the turbo have? Install went ok on the oil supply and return lines?

Plus your not gonna get much boost in first it tachs out to quickly. Try it in third and when are you gonna get some gauges in that thing? They help diagnosing problems like this!

Removed the line from the intake manifold??

I haven't checked shaft play yet, was too pissed off. Will check it out tomorrow. The oil supply lean was leaking a bit because I cant get the new adapter to seal completely so it leaks but I've been keeping up with the turbo.

And I know there isn't boost in first, but I can at least floor it and not sputter and smoke like a banshee
