ok so i ordered my 3kgsk the other day, now will my stock auto trans hold up to the added rpms. the way i understand it is that as long as you dont add fuel technically youll be safe. is this correct? tell me what you think

 

Why did you order a part without first knowing if its going to grenade your transmission? The stock trans wont hold up to much more than an intake and exhaust setup. Dunno about ONLY a 3kgsk

no for whats on hand, 3k wont hurt the trans at all. if ya mess with the fuel plate at all, then u might wanna be lookin for a TC to hold the power. if ya havent added fuel, then the trans will be fine with a 3k

 

Of course, any "spirited" driving is probably going to toast the transmission anyway, but just upping the rpm won't hurt.

I've done the 3000 GSK and love the drivability -- great mod. I've also done a fuel plate, turbo orfice, and timing, and the transmission can feel the pain. I've only driven (empty) across town a couple of times, but trans mods are next for sure.

With 300k miles, mines lived for a while with the 3kgsk without towing. With a healthier trans than mine it should be just fine.
