Default Lots of spontaneous smoke w/ fuel plate?

Is it normal to get spontaneous smoke since putting in my fp and doing the afc/starwheel mod? Just sitting in traffic it will randomly smoke. Just driving down the road driving normal it will randomly smoke. And when I floor it or rev it hi in neutral, it will smoke like a banshee. Is this normal?

What fuel plate and what adjustment did you make to the wheel and afc?

#5 fuelplate (more like a hybrid #5.. it's close to a 100#), afc 3/4 forward, fuel plate 3/4 forward, starwheel tuned forward. Everything is tuned conservatively until I get a boost elbow and some gauges.

Ya I know.. thats next. Thats why the fp and afc are only 3/4 forward and not all the way. Need boost gauage and egt first.

my pickup does it 2 I figured it's due to more fuel and not enough air. might check your air filter.

ya my air filter is def shot; I am awaiting my 2729 to get here to do my bhaf. You think that could be it? Or is it just the "nature of the beast" with a fuel plate? Does yours do it randomly when just sitting in traffic too?

ah yes hazing was the correct term, not pure "smoke". I just didn't think my truck would haze just idling due to the fuel plate. No big deal really, I was just making sure this was normal for a 215p-pumped fuel-plated 12v. Thanks for the advice on air filter though; I cant wait for my filter to get here

Isn't that haze bad for mileage? Or is it really just the nature of these beasts?

pretty much just the nature of them. mine's always done it with my 100 plate. and no i get 18 in town and 22 on the highway. the clogged air filter is killing your mileage though i used a 1/4 tank in 60 miles when mine clogged. I'm getting a new intake in next week for mine and hopefully that helps me some
