aurora turbos
Ok well i havent really found a thread that talks about the pros and cons of aurora turbos. I know the purple paint dont mean anything, but why would you want a non wastegated turbo versus a wategated turbo. Next do they hold up and work well, and are they street friendly or just for pulling. The reason i am asking is because i havent really hear anyone talk about them so i dont know anything about them. thanks
i heard nothing but bad about ATS every says dont buy there products. i also heard they are terrible on customer service and warrentys. i also heard there going out of buissness anyways. just my two cents. build your own for about 1000-1500$
thats what i did
thats what i did
My bud has a A5K on his Dmax and that thing runs like a raped date... Granted with the purple paint he did pay for it but he hasn't had any issues with it and he uses it for pulling and on the street. I thought the 5k would be way to doggy on the street but that turbo spools good.
Being from the southwest, I have to disagree completely with all the bad rep ATS has gotten. They're warranty is awesome, and I have seen it in action, right now they are fixing a friends transmission for free after he blew the output shaft.
My best friend, is running a A4K on his 7.3 PSD and that thing gets it! Newly Tolf out of Durango CO, is running a fully built ATS engine with a ATS tranny, and a A6K turbo, and he placed 3rd at the Desert Diesel Nationals in Arizona earlier this month. I know a few more cummins guys running their products and they all perform just as well as the other name brands, and when something does break, ATS takes care of them

White duramax (791 hp w/o spraying) is Newly Tolf. Fully built ATS engine and tranny running dual ATS CP3s and a A6K turbo.
Grey cummins (500hp), A4K Turbo and built ATS tranny, blew the output shaft on his last run, and is going to ATS next Tuesday for a new one, fee of charge
White powerstroke (418hp), A4K turbo setup, built ATS tranny, and at ATS right now having a fully built ATS engine put in

White cummins (799 hp w/o spray), ATS built engine and tranny w/ A4K over A7K compound set up. He popped a piston and still ran a 12.1 and ATS repaired his engine for free
