Default Delivery Valve Holder

I'm switching the delivery valves in my 160hp pump to 181s. First thing I noticed is that the stock valves are 167s not 131s, and that the 181s look almost exactly the same. Can't imagine there's much difference in flow there.

Looking at the holders though, I see that it only has about a .030 orifice. That seems like that's way too small. I have another P pump off of an old Ford truck, and the orifices on that are .120 or more. Would these holders work better in my pump, or is there something in between that I should use?

the stock holders have a button that pops allowing more fuel to flow through.

the bigger holders like the .120's dont have this button from what I have gathered.

Are all of the stock ones the same, or would the higher hp pumps have a bigger opening?

I have only seen the 175 and 180 pumps and they both looked the same to me. So I would assume yes but I'm not 100% sure

I was checking mine out with a magnifier and don't see how they could pop to let more fuel through. Does the opening on the 175 and 180 pumps look to be about .030?. I just don't want to tune the pump, then find out I should have used different holders. Wouldn't be a big deal later, but it would be a lot easier now with the pump sitting on the bench.

Yes the hole is bout .025, I looked for it as well and could not see it. But I took a screwdriver and put press on a set and you can feel it pop.

There was a thread about this on another site when someone asked the same question. I'll see if I can find it.

Great thread, that's what I wanted to know. The 181s and stock holders should be good for my engine.

Thanks very much for the link
