Default Head bolts and valve adjustment

I am going to bump my timing and cant aford arp head studs so i bought head bolts from mighty diesel. I problem i am having is torquing them down they call for 90ft pounds and 90 degrees. Well the problem is its kinda hard to turn it 90 degrees after you tourque it to 90ft pounds. So i was wondering if anyone knew an easyer way. People tell me that they make a tourque wrench that shows degrees to but i dont have one. I was hoping someone else has done this process before and could send me in the right direction. After i put the bolts in i was thinking about adjusting the valves wile i have the covers off. Can someone tell me what the valves are suposed to be set at. Thank you for any help

go to your local auto parts store and buy the biggest breaker bar there is and turn it 90 deg from that point

here is the specs for your engine

Just put a piece of pipe on your breaker bar or ratchet. I usually use the handle from my floor jack.

.010 intake, .020 exhaust on a cold engine. A few thousandths on the tight side, will quiet it a little and add a tiny bit of flow.

why do you have to do it 90 and 90 is there just a set tourque setting that you can put it to. Or do you have to do it 90 and 90.

Angle torquing is a more accurate measure of proper preload on the fastener than torquing alone. The most accurate way to measure strain would be a strain gauge, however, one can't be used in this case.

I was able to find a cheap angle gauge at an auto parts store. You torque your bolt to the specified torque with your torque wrench, then you can either use your torque wrench or a breaker bar with this angle gauge, and it will put you right where you need to be.
