thats not exactly somethign I was wanting to dive into myself, and upon calling the local diesel shops I've heard from 1k-1500-3000 for them to bump my timing 16* and do the KDP fix. Un-Real..
So what kind of gains and potential are released by bumping the timing 16* when you do basic mods on these cummins (gsk, fuel plate, intake, exhaust, etc..) |

There is a big seat o pants meter difference in timing, I have ran 15* to 22* and now 30* ... 22 was the funest to drive on the street and 30 just flat out pulls ( above 3k :tu:)

Well 30 degress is completely different than 16 degrees. I dont imagine there is many street trucks running that kind of timing.

Good input guys. That sucks they are tryign to charge so much and a lot of you guys get it done for free or 85$. Must be some bum diesels shops or something lol
But the person charging 3k for the job IS a cummins dealer |
When mine was set at probably about 10-11 degrees exhaust temps were uncontrollable and my fuel mileage was around 13. I bumped it to 19 degrees and fuel mileage went to 19 and my exhaust temps still peg the gauge but come up way slower now.

I thought that bumping the timing kept egts LOWER ??
