Is it pretty overfueled? Might try a set of smaller dv's and maybe detuning the pump some, sounds like you are throwing way too much fuel than it can handle.

what about water/meth injection? would that help? also what about running a bigger intercooler or possibly a liquid to air intercooler?

Loose the full cuts, raise the timing to around 20 degrees and tune the truck properly.

All the fuel in the world does you absolutely no good if all it does is make heat instead of power.I have seen a 40/3B combo properly tuned on a 12v go high into the 700's on fuel and well over 900 on spray with managable egts and no water meth at all.The difference between that truck and yours, tuning. We spent countless hours strapped down to a jet tweaking and tuning to make efficent power and keep the egts managable.

IMO and I may get flamed for this...Full cut DV's have no place being in a street driven truck. They are way to smoky and do absolutely nothing but lighten your wallet at refueling time. You can make the power you want with a smaller set of DV's.

On Edit...
Your worried about your EGT's tripping the 1600 mark. What you need to do is go to a pull and take a look at the EGT gauges in the guys who are pulling and then see if your worried about your burst of heat to 1600.I have seen those guys take a 600-2200 degree gauge and wrap them around so hard the pointer looks like it wants to restart. There is a huge diffeence in short bursts of heat versus long sustained heat bursts.

i would try a #10 plate set in the middle and slide the afc back and then crank the strawheel back towards the firewall(half way) then i would check the smoke screw setting and back it out a ways and see if that brings the temps down. thats my 2 cents
