I need some ideas about how to build a bracket to get some weight in the rear end of my pickup because i spin way to much when i take off. I was wondering if anybody has built anything for there pickup. i can't ever take off now without chirping the tires a little bit even in daily driving which i doubt the cops would appreciate. I was thinking of building them with tractor weights. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What have you done with this truck that you can't take off without chirpin the tires. Only thing I know of that would create that issue would be an on the track use only drag strip or pullin clutch.

 

i haven't done much the fuel systems tinkered with but idk everytime i take off now it slides a little bit when i'm not on it. and plus when i race i can't keep traction all the way through 3rd gear and i'm not utilizing any of the power i have.

 

Must be a bear to drive when it rains. I think I'd start by killin two birds with one stone so to speak. Move the batteries out from under the hood to open up a massive amount of workspace under there and put em on the frame rails towards the back of the truck or in the bed. From there you could also build a boxed in custom rear bumper with a fill sot in the top and a drain on the bottom and fill the bumper with liquid, sand or even lead shot. This way you can drain it and get your tow capacity back when you need it.

Anything you do with tractor weights is gonna either take up valuable bed space or look like hell depending on where you mount it.

 

ladder bars keep the axel from wrapping and also pull up on the front of the truck and push down on the rear.

where can i get some ladder bars and bout how much do they cost. or can i build them myself. and i dont want to go taller on tires since it's 2 wheel drive and idk how much wider i can go and still pull alot of weight. and ya it's a bear to drive in the rain or on dirt roads or if there's a little bit of gravel on the road or just about anything . and can you send me a picture of a custom battery box in the bed i'd be interested in that i need to redo my battery cables anyways. I've got a rear bumper on it anyways right now made out of square tubing i guess i can drill it out and put plugs and liquid in there.

 

Can't say as I've ever seen any pics of a battery boxes in the bed, yet. I'm in the process of buildin my own right now but it's a long ways from done. I'm buildin a tool box and across the front of the box, the entire width of the bed I'm makin what will look like a step that will have a lid all the way across. I'm gonna use that for a battery box and the rest of it will store jumper cables and tow strap and tied down straps. It's gonna fill the entire front of the bed back to the wheel wells with this step coming up level with the wheel wells.

I know in competition trucks it's common to mount both batteries under the truck on the frame rails. Your new cables will be considerably cheaper to put together if you put the batteries next to each other also. That cable's expensive.
