Default egr delete = check engine

ever since i deleted my egr system on my california 12valve i have a check engine light but every once in a while it goes off .. this last time it was off for two days any ideas.. also when i checked with dodge they didnt know if they could reflash it or not. and said i would need to pay 100 bucks and leave it for a day and just wanted to see if anyone has done this and if they can reflash it or not before i gamble the cash..

and could just unplugging my batteriess for the light to go off, be enough to get past safety and emmisions . im expired as of yesterday

it is because your truck is seeing that your egr is not working witch is an emissions issue and will throw a code and check engine light ... im sure if you have to have the egr you will not pass ... i dont believe reflashing will work unless they reflash it to be a federal ecu and not a cali then it would not recognize that problem cuz they dont have the egr ... and as far as unplugging batteries it may get rid of the light but the code will still be there so once they hook up a scaner they will see the code and will prob be a instant fail ... i know it is here in cali dont know about there

and also were did you get your egr delete kit ? or did you make it your self and if so could i get some info on it .. i want to do it on my truck ... thanx and hope this helped

Some black electrical tape on the dash will fix the light.

Not to familiar with the cali trucks, you could just remove the light in the gauge cluster for the cel. Other than the egr you will probably never see that light come on anyways.

There is a way involving wiring some resistors into the wiring harness. I don't know off hand how to do it, but we have a customer that did it. I will see what I can come up with.
