Default How many horsepower?

I have a 95 2500 auto that I bombed a little when I got it years ago. It needs some work now, but after spending some time looking at new trucks, I've decided I'd rather rebuild it instead of buying new.

Here's my plan for this time around. I'm hoping to get some horsepower estimates so I know how to build the TC and tranny.

160hp pump
181 DVs
3K springs
#100 plate
215hp Bosch injectors
BD Super B turbo with 4" exhaust system.

I was thinking that should put me at 350hp depending on the plate location. What do you guys think?

add a mack rack plug and some timing and I think you will have your 350 horse.

also I would go a little bigger on the turbo ... the super B should do 350, but if you want ot go bigger later on you will be happy with a nice 62mm charger.

Thanks for the input. I was going to set timing at 15, maybe 16. I had thought about a bigger turbo too. But most of my driving is in highway traffic or in the city, and I just wanted the quicker spool. The Super B is supposed to be good for 400hp+. Any more than that is going to cost me a lot more in the tranny. I'm tryin to end up just below the point that I need billet shafts.

You're gonna need bigger injectors than a 215 if you want 350hp, with that combo you might get close to 300hp

Many moons ago I dynoed with a similar combo except the injectors were bosch 330's and a 180 pump and got 300hp 750 torque, I think getting 350hp running 215's with that combo is high hopes.

That was my thought on the 215s vs the 330s too. The 215s are 5x.0105 whereas the 330s are 4x.012. The 330s do flow 5% more fuel, but at the wrong angle, so more than 5% of the fuel is wasted outside the bowl. The 330s are good if you want smoke, but not so much if you're looking for efficient power from a street engine.

To me the 215s with the Super B turbo should be a perfect match. After finding some new 215s for $200, it seemed like a no brainer. And if I do want a more power later, I could switch to some 5x.012s.
