Default turbo

Im puchasing a 94 2500 today and have been reading on here all weekend about what to do and check on it when its here.

One uestions I cant find an answer for is this.

IS the turbo that comes on it desirable or are the later models better? Do they interchange?

the turbo is ok if you dont plan on bombing the truck to much but if you are go bigger the newer model turbos will not interchange

its most likely got the wh1c on it, its close to the same as an hx35 which comes on the 95-2002's which will interchange, anything with a t3 flange will bolt up

turbo is great for 300-320HP, when you get more power than that start looking for a good turbo matched for your power.
