Default HELP New Fuel plate and too much SMOKE?!

Hey everybody. Maybe one of you can help. I have a 1995 Ram 2500 4X4, Auto, 12V. I just finished a BIG project on my ride. I just changed the timing from 11 to 15. I had the front cover off and re-checked the timing 3 times before reassembling. I replaced my #6 TST plate with a #5 plate and put 3GSK kit in while I had the fuel plate out. Now it idle's great and starts quickly. But it smokes badly and when I bring it up off idle it misses and smokes even worse!! Is it possible that I missed something when I installed the Fuel Plate???? ANY IDEAS!!!!

Hate to say it but sounds like timing slipped..You get the shaft super clean and nut torqued to spec?

Yep, Cleaned it with brake clean and put it together dry. I had the front cover off to do my KDP kit. So everything was right there ?? And I torqued it to 165 ft/lbs is what the timing tool instructions. It starts quickly and idles smoothly? Does slipped timing cause a miss?? Smells and smokes like its over fueling. Think I could have missed something when installing my fuel plate???

Good thing we got a 4 day weekend!! I'll recheck it tomorrow and it is a PITA. Will slipped timing cause it to overfuel?? It was overfueling soo bad that the exhaust manifold gaskets were seeping fuel but only 2 & 3??? and I can't believe the smoke!! Is this comon for slipped timing?? Could I have gotten something wrong when I replaced the fuel plate? or Putting on the AFC housing??

Not saying you cant but it doesnt sound like a problem with the plate. usually problems consist of the foot hanging or actuall heard of them getting stuck. If you got fuel out of your manifold gaskts i would say holy crap.. sure sounds like timimg fella. hopefully someone else chims in too

Will have to check it tomorrow a.m. Appreciate the info. Does 165 ft/lbs sound right on the fuel pump gear nut after timing??
