Default injector and DV valve questions

I am going to be buying either 5x.014 or 5x.016 injectors for our upcoming dyno. what i am wondering is if i will need to upgrade my delivery valves in my 180 pump, and if so whose dv's to buy.

I have a sps66 turbo, 0 plate, and 3k gsk. thats it. and i know this turbo can handle a lot more fuel. i am not worried about smoke, i am running WVO (waste vegetable oil) and it cut down smoke in half. I also have water injection for heat. i just want power and fuel to make the turbo work for living.

This is my daily driver, 3 miles one way, and i occasionally drag race and dyno the truck.

thanks
Cody

191's or laser cuts (aka full cuts) would give you the most potential....and smoke
DDP Schied any DV really as long as their from a well known shop . their pretty much the same!

DDP offers some that will give just shy of the 191, but will smoke less.

they also offer 022's, in my truck the 5x16 are a little smokey for the street I think you would be happy with a set of ddp4's (5x14's) and your 181's

For street stay with 181s and maybe .022s. For anything else go with .022s or 191s. If you need help lighting your 3.0 charger at the start of your pull run the FCs or if you want a smoke show. Thats about all there good for.

well i got scheid laser cut DV's and coaltrain 5x.014's. with a sps66, built DTT trans, 0 plate full forward with the AFC gutted. i made 453hp and 874 ftlbs with water/meth. no meth i made 408hp

am i missing something here? i think i should have smidge more than that. i will say it smokes more but around town light throttle it smokes less than stock injectors and dv's. also at WOT it will peg 1600 like it is nothing!!! with or without meth.

I am confused, i figured they were gonna make me some good power and not fry pistons. i geuss i gotta put a straight water injection kit on it, and an external wastegate cuz i have the screw on the compressor housing all the way out and i still make 55psi no meth. and it never clears up, always smoke out the stacks....

but it hauls!!!!!!

jus wondering what u guys think is my problem....

i need more money

Cody...
Sounds like to much fuel down low and I will say that the gutted AFC is killing the low end. When the pump guy built my first pump he had it set to go to full rack travel at 14psi and run full fuel until the stand ran out of rpm at 4700.When I first installed the pump it rolled thick coal out completely throughout the run.We then tuned the AFC a tad tighter which allowed it to light and get on top of the charger a tad better and it picked up the low end alot.

Timing could be another issue and with me not knowing where your is at I am going to guess with your numbers somehwere around 17 degrees.I fought a terrible issue last Summer until the clubs Cecil County Drag day with my dyno numbers falling off the entire time. That day at Cecil in the cool morning air(well not really it was about 80)the truck had fell to 440hp which was another 20 off what it did two weeks prior at the carlisle Mopar show.I summoned Cooper and he came down and in the 100 degree heat we spent the day retiming the truck and found it had slipped back to 12 degrees due to a reused pump washer. After retiming it to 20 degrees and redynoing it in the 100 degree heat, with no fan in front of it,it laid down 3 successive 530+ runs and each one was better than the one in front of it.So I would say check your timing also it could also be part of your issue.

I run a 5x.013,high flow DV's and a HTT PS66/71/13SS in mine. The injectors you have should get you what you want powerise and I feel its only a matter of tuning for you.Sorry I missed your dyno event I had my youngest sister in the hosptial and for a while it was touch and go and we were not sure what was going to happen. If you need a hand you know how to reach me.....Andy

ok i changed the timing, it was at around 6.5 degrees! I popped the gear off and changed it to 16.5.

on the way to the scrap yard to make some money, i noticed it started missing, so i got on it. thick black smoke then took off like a rocket, like nothing happened. it runs like it is back at the lower setting. i did install a new lock washer and even torqued the nut to 150ft lbs instead of the recomended 144.

So how do u guys keep em from slipping? i am gonna put some green loctite on it next time, it is a removeable, penetrating type loctite. not sure if it will work or not.

just asking for a lil help.
