Default Gov Spring Questions

i put my 4k gsk in tonight and didnt see any shims is it possible that my pump never had these springs it has me real worried i dont want to fire the thing up and destroy my pump by the way the pump is not on the motor its on the shop floor right now

as far as i know all pumps had washers in them. there hard to get out but there there

You sur eyour pumps stock? All pumps should of had some sort of shim or another unless someones already been into it. Did it have the wire on it? Anyway just put your springs in. Less work for you

the wire was still over the nut and the paint hadnt been worn off it the only thing i seen under the spring was the seats but i have to go back in and put the wear shims back under the big springs

I just installed the 3k portion of the 4k kit from Pacbrake. One side of the governor just had the 2 wear shims on the backside of the idle spring, the other side of the governor had one shim for the smallest spring and the 2 wear shims behind the idle spring. Made me nervous so I made a phone call. Remember the governor has to be balanced and each one maybe setup differently as far as shim count goes.
