Default Will these mods require a turbo?

I will be installing a new 47re with Goerend parts so I can finally get some power. I am planning on #10 plate, DDP-3's, 3k GSK, 4" exhaust, BHAF, 16 deg. timing. Daily driver, no heavy towing, pulling, or racing.

That's enough to empty my wallet and keep me grinning for a while. Then, after I get my 2.5 billion stimulus money that I asked for, I figured I would look at turbos. But someone with a lot of experience with the above parts said I will be too hot and will need to get a turbo now. He likes the regular Super B for this setup.

So my question is should I keep saving for the turbo and do it all at once or try it without the turbo and see if I can handle egt's with plate tuning and right foot control?

Have you done anything for the KDP? In you did and mentioned it somewhere sorry for missing it. But I would do that pronto. Its a bad deal when that thing falls out.

As for your question, Yes you can pull your plate back and tune your AFC to make your stock turbo live until you can afford a new turbo.

Oh yah, thanks I updated my sig. First thing I did when I brought the truck home was pull it into the garage and tabbed the KDP. Previous owner didn't know about it.

Not really. It will get hot but just watch your EGT gauge and you should be fine. You might try a larger housing like a 14 or 16cm

no you do not need a bigger turbo i was running 370hp injectors witch are about the same as the ddp3's, higher timing at 18.5*, 4k gsk, #100 plate which is way more fuel than a lowsey #10, and 191 delivery valves with a stock turbo for almost a year pulling 14000 lbs on the freeway, if you get a bigger exhaust housing you should be in good shape

I will tell you just so you don't go to far. I run plateless & gutted afc with 3000 gsk and if I run wot I can get 1600 in a split second. I did run a 6 plate and I could only get 1400 at wot. Just trying to help out.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm glad I will be able to use the stock turbo for a while. I have a #10 and #100 plate to play with and I would like to have the DDP-3's. Not buying a turbo right away will allow me to get a billet input shaft for this new tranny. With the triple-disc TC I ordered I think the shaft will be money well spent.
