Default P7100 pump question

A local high performance shop manager told me that the p-pump on my '94 automatic won't push 370 marine injectors and 191 or laser cut DV's.. how true is this? I installed injectors and DV's from a stock '97 12valve and noticed a LARGE improvement, along with a #0 plate all the way slid forward. My transmission is already built and will hold the extra HP & torque. Would it be possible for my pump to push the equivalent of 370 marines with laser cut DV's? The injectors I'm looking at are here: Scheid Diesel - 94-98 Dodge Injectors 60HP Increase Scheid Diesel Lightning Ram 2500 - 3500

If this is possible, would I see a huge difference?

Also, dv link here:
High Flow Laser Cut Delivery Valves Dodge 5.9L 12 Valve Cummins Diesel Scheid

any thoughts / ideas appreciated

It is a 160pump, which is on the small end, but shouldn't have an issue with the 370's. IMHO I would stay away from the LC dv's though, at least for now. Plenty more power can be had for a lot less money, by further tuning the pump. I would start by modding the AFC, adding a 2095 rack plug, and adjusting the timing as well. With bigger injectors and the DV's you have, you should notice a huge difference, and will be saving a couple hundred bucks.

370 is a fairly small injector when your talking about the performance side of things. In short the answer is yes your 160 can easily push a 370 and much bigger if you can provide enough air to make it run correctly. For the price of the injectors your looking at you can get a much bigger sticks for the same price or some 5x12s (370s) for about half. That’s with correct spray. Check out or vendors and ask them about some of there “budget” injectors. I know John at Holland court can get you a deal. If your really looking for future performance I would look for 5x14s or 140hp injectors and detune your pump a little. Better to buy once then twice.

I would also stay away from LCs. The 181s you put into your truck are more than capable of handling your performance needs. If you want to upgrade them go with a 191 or 022. Keep the LCs and FCs on the pulling trucks.

On a side not stay away from your local shop. Judging by your location I think I know who your talking about and I am not a fan.

Thanks for the help guys . I'll definately talk to some of the sponsors on here . I don't have my truck at my current location, it's home in TN, but I'm picking it up again soon. The 'local shop' is Cedar City Diesel in Lebanon, TN. Another question.. Whats the rack plug for? I'm totally new to the p-pump. Is it the screw that stops the fueling lever on the side of the injection pump? Also, I've been told by the same guy.. Since I have 410 gears, that I shouldn't install a 3000 gsk? I'm looking for 373's or 355's, gonna check out some sponsors on here.. The ultimate goal of the truck is a fun daily driver that'll **** n get when I want it to, but also still be of use off the track. Thanks in advance!

the rack plug is on the front of the pump right behind the timing cover. It is a rack stop when replaced with the 2095 plug you will gain max rack travel if your plate/afc set up allowes you to do so.

and the 3000 gsk is a great mod, another thing to keep in mind with the bigger dv's, injectors, and your plate watch your fuel press you may need an aftermarked fuel pump.

I have not even looked at mine in awhile - does the pump have to come off to install the plug?

That or grind the case. It isnt hard to pull the pump you dont even have to take it off just the fuel and oil lines and take out the bottom support bolts undo the 4 nuts that hold it to the case slide it back just enough to get the plug out. then re assemble. Oh make sure you can re time it
