definatly go pre-turbo there is no downfall and is much more accurat, safe, reliable than post-turbo

Thats not necessarily true - Ive been around awhile and I HAVE heard of thermocouples breaking off and going through the turbo. But that would be a pretty rare event, and I would suspect improper installation as the reason.

Theres not necessarily a right or wrong here - its more personal preference. I personally want the guage reading as close to the actual exhaust temp as possible.

DR Evil or 94cummins12v, would you think that it is safe to add 250-300 to the actual reading? Or more?

honestly im not 100% sure its close to 200* difference i do know that from listening to different opinions

Dr eval i did mention earlyer that the probe could fall off and screw up the exhaust wheel shouldnt have put "no downfall" but it is definatly better to go pre-turbo

Ive heard that it can be anywhere from 200 to 500

i would go pre turbo and just make sure to change the probe every 125,000 miles or so and you should not have a problem with it falling off

ive only herd of it coming apart once or twice i wouldnt be all that worried about it

Well me not knowing right. When I first put mine pyro in I put it behind the turbo (turbo down pipe). I would run the heck out of it it would only go up to 1000. Then When I drill and tap the manifold and put it there. When I ran the heck out of it, it would reach 1500.
But that is with my mods I have done. Now I would say the less power you make there wouldnt be as much differnce as 500 degress.
