Propane ?'s
Do I need to have anything major done like studs, o-ring, fire ring?
Right now I just have everything in my sig done to her. I just rebuilt the motor and put new stock bolts and a 10 over cummins marine gasket on it. It has about 3200 miles on it.
Where do you get the bottles? Just use a bbq bottle?
I plan on doing the do it yourself way....

nah it wasnt a dumb question but this one thing i think not alot of people on here have alot of experience with...now this i know is that you cannot use the bbq variety of bottles im not sure why might have something to do with DOT regs , your best bet for a bottle (their not cheap) is maybe go find a place that works on forklifts and see if they can hook ya up with used one
I guess all i would recommend is the head studs and not pouring too much of this stuff in right away until you see how its agreeing with the truck, there was a kid at Wyo-tech when i was there that threw the rod thru the side of his 7.3's block when he decided he wanted more propane by doing his own modding to the jet

We run LP in our race truck. we are using a Bully Dog set up and manifold with a forklift bottle.
You definitely want to watch how much you’re putting in as we had a negative thermal event at the last drags. to much propane makes things go boom.
It will increase turbo speed and head pressure. to much can also cause flame out.
We would rather and probably will go NO2 and take the LP off, Just doing R-n-D now.

A friend of mine has propane on a stock truck(the fuel plate is slid forward and afc tweaked). He has had no problems with it so far. But I'm not sure how much propane he has going to it.. He also has 4" exaust but I see you already have that. I wouldn't be afraid to put it on without studs. I'm no expert on the matter but that's my 2 cents.
