wires
i finnaly got the wires in and hooked up right. took me a while to do so but they are in.
next step would be to get the battery terminal fixed for some reason this thing decided to melt and split the female end for no reason all grounds and all + wires was hooked up correctly ther are no loose hangin wires. my volt meter bounces around between 12and14 volts and when i step on it the lights get brighter i think maybe the alt might be going out. and what is the difference between the p7100 inj pump and the other? just wondering.:argh: |
p7100 and ve are mechanical pumps

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...st_59liter.jpg Boost Gauge Installation Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel 1991-1998 12 Valve (Intercooled) - the above pic is of a first gen 12V, the procedure is the same for a second gen 12V. 1. Locate and remove the 1/8" NPT pipe plug (see pic) on the driver's side of the intake manifold. 2. Install the fitting and connect the hose making sure that the hose fits snug but does not pinch. Alternately, you can drill and tap the intake manifold. i found two of these ports. one of the ports is used and takes this boost pressure to back of IP pump. the other is open. i assume i can use the open one? or do i need to T into this existing line? thanks |

You do not need to T into the other one just use the blind hole thats not being used.Someone said about the gauges getting noisy if you do not tap the air horn and thats not correct at all.The mechanical gauges have been in my truck since 1998 and I have had no issues with the boost gauge at all.

not sure how old this thread is but i joined diesel bombers because of it. anybody have tips for wiring gauges? im about to install a pyro transtemp and boost gauge from glowshift.
|
i understand the process and found the port but the port is threaded and the fitting in the kit is a female adapter.... how does that work?
|
Youll need a different fitting (male) or you could get a 1/8" npt nipple.
Not sure where you go your guages from - they shouldnt ship like that. |
