actually the zf-6 is stronger than the nv trans. they can handle 700-750 rwhp in stock form. they also shift quicker than the nv's. you should check out destroked.com for the bellhousing and any other info you need. swapping cummins motors into ford trucks is their specialty. you might check out advanced adapters website. they have quite a bit of info on various things like this. i have both transmissions, one in my 02 duramax and the nv4500 in my 97 cummins. the duramax has made around 400 rwhp or more for the last 150,000 miles and never had a transmission issue, and i haul stuff everyday nearly. when i load my flatbed trailer with hay the gvw is a little over 30,000 lbs. it also has a southbend ceramic clutch in it so it has been hammered pretty hard a lot.
