Making it my 'OWN'... New Truck - Thoughts on Parts/Power
I apologize in advance for the noobie thread as I know these threads pop up frequently, but everyone I've looked at or a search has yielded me seem to be a few years old...
I recently picked up my first Cummins in the form of a '97 2500 4x4 Laramie SLT with 100,000 miles and the owner had good amount of work done to it from the days when he used to sled pull (6+ years ago) and I wanted to get your guys' thoughts on the current engine upgrades he mentioned...
HX40 (pulling turbo was removed)
4,000 GSK
P Pump w/ work from EEP (not sure of the extent)
Cut DV
No fuel plate
Marine Cam
215hp factory injectors (at least I'm told... he pulled with the 370hp injectors)
I have two questions:
1.) What kind of horsepower do you think this setup would have?
2.) In your opinion, what would be the best direction to go to update some of these performance parts? My goal is to have a low-mid 600hp truck...
Thank you for your help, as I'm still learning!

I think I'll pull in the Work Stock class for now...
The rear end currently has 4.10 gears with Ford 700 (dump truck) rear leaf springs and I'm coming up on 1,200-1,400 degrees pretty quick with the smaller HX40 so I know more air is definitely needed. I was looking at the Silver Bullet 66mm from Industrial Injection.

if your going to pull workstock twins are out, max turbo size is single 2.5". If you are not towing step right up to a 2.5" legal s465 .9 a/r housing.
I ran one back in 09 on my street truck performed better than my silver bullet 66 just spooled a tad slower. But that was also not the wheel the new 2.5" chargers run either.

This is what you're thinking? I've had my eye on this for awhile now... thanks for the input!

Miss that thing actually, made 556 hp at the tire. Come to find out later the throttle foot pedal bent a little not allowing the pump to go full throttle. This run was at 3/4 throttle never did do a full throttle dyno pass sadly. The new billet wheels they have will spool quicker and make way more power than the charger I had on there.
